Key Duplication in Dubai Marina

Spare keys cut at your door, tested in your lock, while you wait.

A spare key is the simplest protection against a lockout in the Marina. One with a neighbour, one with family, one in your bag — and the 2 a.m. lockout never happens. The most expensive key you will ever own is the one you do not have when you need it.

We cut keys across Dubai Marina — one of all our locksmith services — at your door, while you wait. Standard house keys, security keys, car keys with chips. Call +971 52 642 6161 and tell us what you need copied. We cut them as the locksmith on Marina Walk, the locksmith in JLT, the locksmith in JBR and the locksmith in Al Barsha.

Which keys can you copy — and which can you not?

Most keys copy easily: standard house keys, storeroom and mailbox keys, and car keys with chips (cut plus programming). Restricted and security keys — the ones issued with a registration card — copy only with that card and your ID. If yours is restricted, we tell you straight.

The rule is simple: if a key was designed to be hard to copy, we respect that. Registered security keys protect whole buildings, and copying one without the card would undermine every flat on your floor. Bring the card and your ID, and we will cut it properly.

For car keys, the chip has to be programmed as well as cut — that is car key cutting and programming at your car; see that page for the details. Standard keys, though, are cut and tested in minutes.

What do I need to bring?

Just the original key, brought in person. If it is a security key, bring the registration card and your Emirates ID as well. For car keys, we need the car itself — programming happens at the vehicle, not from the key alone.

Worried the original is too worn? Bring it anyway. Worn keys can often be read, and where they cannot, we cut to the lock's code for a fresh, accurate copy. That beats copying a copy, which is how bad keys are born.

One more thing: never let anyone take your key away to copy it. We cut in front of you — at your door or wherever we meet. Your key never leaves your sight.

How many spare keys should a Marina renter keep?

Two, minimum. One you carry, one with someone you trust — a friend in the tower, family nearby. Marina tenants lock themselves out more than owners do, because the neighbour-with-a-spare habit has not formed yet. A spare cut today beats needing emergency lockout help in the Marina later.

Where should the spare live? With a person, not under a mat or in a plant pot — everyone checks those. A trusted neighbour in the same tower is ideal: close enough to help at midnight, far enough that one lost bag does not lose both keys.

Short-let hosts: keep a master set yourself and cut per-cleaner sets. When a cleaner moves on, changing the locks beats asking for the key back and hoping — our guide to rekeying vs replacing locks explains the cheaper rekey option.

Can you come to me instead of me coming to you?

Yes — we are mobile, so the key cutting comes to you. If your only key is stuck inside the flat, if you have ten keys to copy for a short-let, or if you simply cannot get away — we do it at your door, while you wait and watch.

There is no shop to visit, because we do not run one. The van carries the cutting machines, the blanks, and the programming gear. You get the same cut you would get at a counter, without the trip.

While-you-wait means exactly that: we cut, we test the copy in your lock in front of you, and you leave with working keys. If a copy does not turn smoothly, we recut it on the spot. Wondering what a locksmith costs in Dubai Marina? Our cost guide lists every factor, honestly.

What happens when you call

  1. You call

Tell us what the key is for — flat door, storeroom, car, safe. We quote your arrival time on the call.

  2. We check the key

We check the blank, the profile, and whether it is a restricted key that needs a registration card.

  3. We cut and test

Cut on professional machines, not market-stall grinders — then tested in your lock before you pay.

  4. You take the spares

Handed over on the spot, with advice on where to keep them. Yes, we will nag you about the neighbour's drawer.

What affects the price

We quote every job before starting work, so you know the cost before we touch a lock. These are the things that move the price up or down:

  • The key type — standard blanks differ from chip keys and restricted profiles
  • How many copies you need in the same visit
  • Whether car-key programming is involved
  • Whether we come to you or you bring the key to us at an agreed spot
  • The time of the call — late-night call-outs are priced differently from daytime ones

Mobile service: we come to you anywhere in Dubai Marina and nearby areas — +971 52 642 6161. There is no walk-in shop.

Questions, answered

Can you copy a key from a photo?

No — a photo does not carry the cut depths, and a guess can damage your lock. We need the physical key. If the original is lost, that is a different job: see our emergency locksmith page.

My key is worn down — will the copy actually work?

Often, yes — if enough of the key survives to read. Bring both pieces. If the key is too worn to read accurately, we can cut to the lock's code instead, which gives you a fresh, accurate key.

Can you make one key that opens all my doors?

Often, yes. If your flat door and storeroom use the same type of cylinder, we set them to work from one key. Bring both keys and we will check on the spot.

Do you copy mailbox and storeroom keys too?

Yes — mailbox, storeroom, and utility cupboard keys are everyday copies. Bring the original and we cut it while you wait.

My key snapped in half — can you copy from the pieces?

Yes, if we have enough of the pieces to read the cuts. Bring both halves. And get a spare cut from the new key before you leave — that is the whole lesson of a snapped key.

Can you duplicate my building access fob?

Some, yes. Many modern fobs can be cloned; building-managed access fobs usually cannot — those are controlled by your tower's management, and the concierge is the right person to ask. We will tell you honestly which kind yours is.
